Filip Veverka

Filip was born in Brno and received his education at the local Dance Conservatory. 

His first engagement was at the Czech National Ballet in Prague, after which he had the opportunity to dance at the Tulsa Ballet in the USA, the Deutsch Oper am Rhein Dusseldorf in Germany and the Royal Swedish Ballet in Sweden. 

Later, as a freelance dancer, he performed on various stages in Europe.  During his career he danced in most of the classical repertoire and had the opportunity to collaborate with many choreographers - Youri Vámos, Jiří Kilián, Boris Bregvadze and dance in ballets by John Cranko, Nacho Duato, Elvin Ailyey, Maurice Béjart, Anjelin Preljocaj and others. 

In 2003, he received the prestigious Thalia Award for the role of Petruchio in John Cranko's The Taming of the Shrew. 

After ending his professional career, he works as a ballet master and freelance choreographer (2017 ballet Manon for DJKT in Pilsen, 2022 Cyrano from Bergerac for Landestheater Innsbruck and others).
