Markéta Pospíšilová  | Prague Summer Ballet Workshop

Markéta was born in Ostrava in the Czech Republic and received her dance education at the local Janáček Conservatory.  During her studies, she attended summer dance schools at The rock school in Philadelphia, (USA) and Daria Klimentova's ballet masterclasses in Prague. 

 

 Her first engagement after school was at the National Moravian-Silesian  Theater in Ostrava, where she played many roles in the classical and modern repertoire.  For the role of Odette - Odile in Swan Lake, she was nominated for the prestigious Thália Award. 

 

In 2015, she got an engagement in the world-famous company of Jean-Christophe Maillot - Les ballet de Monte Carlo.  Here, in addition to roles in Jean CHristoph's performances, she could also gain experience working with top choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Johan Inger and others.  Since 2020, she has been working as a freelance dancer and balletmaster and teaches in most ensembles in the Czech Republic
